A thought occurred to me
In the civilian world flights use even thousands digits for their altitude when west bound and odd thousands digits when going east.
Is there an equivalent for military jets? I'm specifically thinking about fighters and considering the following three scenarios separately:
1. Normal routing from point A to point B in normal civilian airspace;
2. Non-combat flight at or near a conflict zone;
3. Flying a pre-planned route as part of a package in a combat operation.
I've never considered this before and realised I have no idea what the answer is. Any definitive input would be appreciated.
If it is the case that for normal non-combat flights west to east transitions required odd numbered altitudes and vice versa this adds another element that can make planning and flying training missions to and from target ranges and MOAs a little more interesting, busy, and fun.
